Spice up your Norfolk Day with a taste of the debut batch of Norwich Mustard, available to buy tomorrow for the first time.
“It’s a taste of what’s to come,” said Robert Ashton, the entrepreneur behind the social enterprise, which was set up in the wake of Colman’s decision to leave its historic home in the city earlier this year.
Since then, Mr Ashton and county councillor Steve Morphew have been working on sourcing and producing the inaugural Norwich Mustard, and it will be available to taste and buy at a pop-up shop in House of Fraser in Chapelfield from Friday until Sunday.
“It tastes great – wholegrain mustard with a dash of honey, and it’s a chance for Norwich people to show their support for mustard production in the city,” he said.
The first batch has been produced to whet customers’ appetites while the social enterprise finds premises from which it can begin long-term production.
